Morphological heterogeneity of intratumoral macrophages in prostate tumors

چکیده
Background . Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common human worldwide. In progression of prostate cancer, total number macrophages in tumor tissue associated with poor prognosis and increased risk metastasis. However, heterogeneity intratumoral at various stages PCa development, role tumor-associated (TAMs) have been insuffciently investigated. The aim study was to analyze morphological features, size TAMs samples, reveal their correlation clinical data patients. Material Methods Immunohistochemical analysis 36 paraffn blocks patients (pT2a–3bN0–1M0) performed using antibodies scavenger receptor CD68. Results Foamy CD68+ were found tissue. indicator “number per felds view macrophages” lowest a Gleason score 6 (5.8) (11.0 – ≥ 8). Macrophages formed larger clusters severe PCa. Small but not large signifcantly more lymph node metastases (48 vs 24 N0 group; p=0.14). small (smaller than 100 µm 2 ) series scores 6, 7 8 (24, 47.5, 72, respectively, p=0.052). Conclusion As process progressed biochemical recurrence increased, there trend towards an increase area large, foamy TAMs, presumably rich lipids, as well wider distribution tendency form clusters. We hypothesize that are involved further recruitment subsequently leading metastasis progression.

HETEROGENEITY OF MACROPHAGE POPULATIONS: ANTIBODIES DETECTING VARIOUS POPULATIONS OF MACROPHAGES
Two groups of antibodies against mouse resident alveolar and peritoneal macrophages have been raised individually in rabbits by immunization with whole cell suspensions of lavaged alveolar and peritoneal macrophages. The whole antisera reacted positively with neutrophils and lymphocytes. However, upon extensive absorptions with these cells the activity became restricted to macrophages. The...
متن کاملIntratumoral heterogeneity of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
No personalized therapy regimens could demonstrate a benefit in survival of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA). Since genetic heterogeneity might influence single biopsy based targeted therapy or the outcome of clinical trials, aim of the present study was to investigate intratumoral heterogeneity of iCCA by whole exome sequencing. Therefore, samples from tumor center and tumor periphery of...
متن کاملIntratumoral Morphological Heterogeneity of Breast Cancer As an Indicator of the Metastatic Potential and Tumor Chemosensitivity
Breast cancer (BC) demonstrates considerable intratumoral morphological heterogeneity. The aim of this work was to evaluate the relationship among different morphological structures, the rate of metastasis, and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in NAC-treated (n = 427) and NAC-naïve (n = 249) BC patients. We also studied the involvement of an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in ...

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of VEGF-targeted therapy (sunitinib) on molecular intratumoral heterogeneity (ITH) in metastatic clear cell renal cancer (mccRCC). Experimental Design: Multiple tumor samples (n 1⁄4 187 samples) were taken from the primary renal tumors of patients with mccRCC who were sunitinib treated (n 1⁄4 23, SuMR clinical trial) or untreated (n 1...
متن کاملMolecular genetic analysis of p53 intratumoral heterogeneity in human astrocytic brain tumors.
We investigated genetic heterogeneity of astrocytic gliomas using p53 gene mutations as a marker. Different parts of morphologically heterogeneous astrocytic gliomas were microdissected, and direct DNA sequencing of p53 gene exons 5 through 8 was performed. Thirty-five glioma samples and tumor-adjacent normal-appearing brain tissue from 11 patients were analyzed. Sixteen different p53 gene muta...
